Candlestick Patterns for Beginners: Read Price Charts

A hands-on course from FX Academy that teaches you to read candlestick charts from scratch. You will learn candle anatomy, the highest‑value candlestick patterns, how to combine timeframes, identify trends vs ranges, and draw your first support and resistance levels. This is practical work: expect deliberate practice on charts and a demo account before risking real money.

What you'll learn

  • Correctly read and label a candlestick (body, wick/shadow, open, close, high, low) on any timeframe
  • Identify the 8 most essential candlestick patterns for beginners (e.g. hammer, doji, engulfing, morning star) and explain what each suggests about supply/demand
  • Combine three timeframes (higher, trading, and lower) to find trade context and alignment
  • Draw reliable horizontal support and resistance levels and simple trendlines/channels on live charts
  • Size a position so a stop loss risks a precise 0.5–2.0% of account equity using correct pip values (micro $0.10 / mini $1 / standard $10 per pip for USD-priced majors)
  • Build a complete trade plan from entry to stop to target, calculate risk‑reward ratios, and record the trade in a journal
  • Scan charts and identify at least 10 valid pattern+context setups in a practice workbook
  • Use a demo account to practise every setup before trading live (demo first, always)

Frequently asked questions

Is this course really worth paying for?

Every Forex Fluency course is a deep, structured program — long-form fact-checked lessons, fully worked numeric examples, diagrams and end-of-module quizzes. At $50 it costs less than one impulsive, uneducated trade typically loses.

How do I access the course after paying?

Checkout takes a minute. Once your payment is confirmed you receive an access code by email — enter it on the My Learning page and every lesson unlocks instantly, forever.

Do I need a trading account first?

No. You only need a free demo account for the practice exercises, and we show you exactly when and how to open one — no deposit required.

Will this course make me profitable?

No honest school promises that. Most retail traders lose money; education, risk management and disciplined practice are what separate the minority who succeed. This course gives you that foundation — the results depend on you.

Is it self-paced?

Completely. Lessons are written, not scheduled — read them any time, on any device, and your progress is saved as you go.
